The department welcomes Emma Berquist as a new Junior firefighter.
The NBFD is actively seeking new members. There are roles available for individuals of all ages and skill levels. Anyone interested is encouraged to visit the Station to pick up an application or speak with a member for more information.

Vehicle Accident / 505 Keystone Way, Centre Twp.
June 04
6-4-26 @ 03:11 Rescue 8 and EMS 89-1 responded to a vehicle accident involving a utility pole with wires down. Upon arrival, crews found the driver already out of the vehicle and a utility pole that had been sheared.

Assisting Company 3 With A Barn Fire / 1375 Valentine Rd., N.E. Madison Twp.
June 02
6-2-26 @ 22:29 Tanker 8 was dispatched on the first alarm along with units from Perry and Juniata Counties to assist the Ickesburg Fire Company with a working barn fire. Upon arrival, Tanker 8 dumped water to a portable fold a tank to support fire ground operations and then participated in the tanker shuttle.

Manure Pit Training At Station 3
June 01
Ickesburg Fire Company hosted a manure pit training class attended by members from Blain, East Waterford, Landisburg, Liverpool, Millerstown, New Bloomfield, and New Buffalo fire companies, along with Landisburg EMS. The training included both a classroom session and practical exercises using a specialized manure pit simulator.

Station 8 Helps N.B. Elementary
June 01
Station 8 was asked to provided fire truck rides for eight students per grade at New Bloomfield Elementary School, with a chaperone joining each class. Students were selected based on academics and behavior, with all eligible names entered into a computer for a random drawing. The 8 winners enjoyed rides on NBFD rigs around town.

Vehicle Accident / 600 Mannsville Rd., Centre Twp.
May 30
5-30-26 @ 20:28 Rescue 8, EMS 89, and Medic 1 responded to a reported vehicle accident with possible entrapment. Upon arrival, emergency crews found the driver still inside the vehicle but not trapped. The driver was safely removed, and EMS personnel assessed and transported the individual to a local hospital for further evaluation.
