This evening, members from Station 8 and 10 had training together on rural water supply operation out at Holman Lake. New and older members had the opportunity to learn or refresh on different jobs.

Engine 10 was set up to draft water out of the lake to fill tankers. Tankers 10, 10-1 and 8 went to a dump site and dumped their water into a fold a tank. Engine 8 then drafted and supplied Truck 10 ... (Full Story & Photos)

Ride a fire truck, have the kiddos compete in a mini version of the Firefighter Combat Challenge, learn about pet safety, and meet our station Dalmatian, Rosenbauer!

At noon sit in on a presentation from Dr. Nina Mantione about Pet Safety & CPR.

Also present will be CR'S Concessions & Ickesburg's Fry truck in case you get hungry while you're out and about Saturday.

Station 8 along with units from Newport Fire Company were dispatched for a reported house fire in NBFD 1st due area. Chief 8 requested a 2nd alarm after receiving information from County as this would be a fully involved house.

Engine 8 laid 200 ft of 5 inch for Tanker 8 to pick up and supply tank water. Engine 8's crew deployed one 1.75 line to keep the fire in check and extinguish.

Members from New Bloomfield, Ickesburg and New Buffalo Fire Companies took part in a 16 hour Rural Fireground Water Movement class hosted by NBFD. This class consisted of classroom work during 2 evenings and a full day Saturday at Station 8.
A dump and fill site were set up, starting with 1 fold a tank then adding tanks as we wanted to increase the flow rate. A flow rate of 910 gpm was successful ... (Full Story & Photos)
