What a nice Saturday in March to finish up the outside part of this 16 hour pump I class. After two Wednesday evenings of classroom work, today members went out to Holman Lake with tanker 8 and set up to draft and all members had a chance to practice this operation. Then a pump test was done flowing the capacity of the tanker's pump. (1500 gpm )
After this, the Tanker and Engine took turns hooking to a hydrant in New Bloomfield to show how to start using tank water and then switching to a hydrant for a positive water source. Members had a nice lunch at station 8, and then did a vacuum test on the Engine to finish out the day before the quiz. All members passed!!
Thanks to all the members for taking time and taking pump I and also Dick Myers for coming up and teaching. |
