| Fire Prevention Week will take place October 4 through 10. This year's National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) theme is Charge into Fire Safety, with an emphasis on safe charging practices.
Members of the New Bloomfield Fire Department visited New Bloomfield Elementary School for the annual fire prevention program. The event began with a fire drill, and when all students were assembled in their designated areas, fire apparatus arrived with lights and siren.
This year, 334 students from kindergarten through fifth grade participated. Students watched a movie, explored the fire apparatus, and had the opportunity to ask questions about fire safety.
Each child received a goody bag containing fire prevention materials to take home and share with their families.
Banners displaying fire prevention tips are also visible in yards around New Bloomfield for those entering town from the east or west.
Thanks to the fire prevention committee and the other members that helped. |
